Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Cairo largely depends on your preferences for weather, budget, events and crowd levels. Also, it depends on your personal preferences and what you want to experience during your trip. Here's a breakdown of the different seasons:

Mild Season (October–April): This is the best time to visit Cairo, with comfortable temperatures ideal for exploring the Pyramids of Giza, bustling souks, and historical sites. The weather is mild and dry, making sightseeing more enjoyable. However, Cairo sees the most tourists during this period, especially in December and January. Prices are at their highest during the winter holidays but remain moderate in fall and early spring.

Hot Season (May–September): Cairo experiences extreme heat during summer, with temperatures often exceeding 35°C (95°F), making outdoor exploration challenging. However, indoor attractions like the Egyptian Museum and shopping malls remain popular. Crowds are much lower during this time, and attractions are less busy. This is the cheapest time to visit, as hotels and flights are significantly discounted, except around Eid celebrations when prices may temporarily rise.
